Strawberries aceo

So this month's quest is Garden Goodies, and I got to thinking that I really haven't done any food art, except an Apple aceo I did one time to show someone how to do shadows.
Well, I don't have much of a garden, just tomatoes, and they are all still very green. I did however, have a bunch of strawberries in the fridge. Now, they didn't come from my garden, but they obviously came from a garden. : ) So I took out three ripe and luscious strawberries, took out my watercolor pencils and got busy. I do believe I am going to work a bit more on the shadows though, especially directly under the strawberries.
I also did an aceo for our Art Swap, the theme is State Fair, and I love how it turned out. I can't post it now because I don't want to ruin the surprise for the recipient.

I've also been taking a free 5 week watercolor class with Molly Murrah on the fundamentals. It is every Friday at 1-3 pm central standard time, and there are three weeks (or classes) left. I can always learn more : ) You should seriously consider joining us. Next Friday, Aug. 13 is going to be about papers and brushes.
Yesterday I learned a lot about color properties such as cool and warm colors, transparent, semi transparent and opaque colors. Not to mention stainers and granulated colors. I understand it a lot better now, especially the warm and cool of the same color, such as red. Each week a free gift of Daniel Smith art paints are given away. There is a drawing and all you have to do is tweet about the class and add their link of course. Hoping to win!
Have a wonderful day, and if you're an artist, I hope you can get in some creative time today.
Blessings,
Brenda
