Feed Me

This is a quick little aceo I did for my DAWG group quest (Designing Artist Women's Group- A Group of Women who love the Lord! We Love to Paint, especially ACEO's! We enjoy altered art, and more!)
It is of an oriole feeding its young. Reference photo by Pat Otten, a dear friend.

My First Two Knitted Scarves

I finally learned how to knit.
This is the very first completed knitted work I have ever done. I had to rip it apart and start over 3 or 4 times, but I finally got it. Oh, and now I know how to back up without starting over, very useful to know. The only thing is that on the binding (the finishing row), I pulled the yarn too tight so it curves a bit. I may go back and fix that, or I might undo the whole thing and use the yarn for some other project. It is a beautiful red (looks orangy on my screen), and is very soft.

This is the pink scarf that I knitted last week. The picture of the complete scarf turned out crappy, but then my batteries died and I couldn't find new ones.
Now I just need to buy more knitting needles (I only have one pair), and try to figure out how to do something a bit more complicated like mittens. I know, mittens are supposedly very easy to make, but when you just learned how to knit, and have only made two scarves, mittens are complicated. : ) lol
Yikes, I have to go get ready for work.
Have a fantastic day, and stay safe. If you live in Minnesota, or anywhere that it is as cold as it is here today, stay warm.

Fun For Valentines Day

This weekend I decided to have some fun and I created these two aceos. Love and Kiss Me.
Not my usual, but it is very freeing to step out of the norm. I want to crank up the music sometime and try my hand at abstract for a change. Hopefully I will have the guts to do that soon. Have a wonderful day!!!!

Bouquet From the Heart

Friday I went downstairs and brought my acrylics upstairs. Found that I am out of Titanium white in my usual brand.
This little design I had done last year in colored pencil while doodleing. I always liked it, but it wasn't quite right and I never took it anywhere. So, last night I used my acrylics, and here it is, turned into an aceo. It's strange to use acrylics again, but I like how it dries right away.

I think I mentioned that I've been crocheting this winter, if not, well, I have. Here are the two aphgans I made in November and December. I have a big tub of leftover yarn that's been in my basement for years, and decided to put them to use. It's been very relaxing in the evenings watching tv and crocheting.
Last week I taught myself to knit and am now working on a pink scarf. I only have the straight needles, so haven't been able to try making mittens yet, but want to.

First Fractal - Cindrellas' Carriage

This is my first Fractal art that I have published on Zazzle. It reminds me of Cinderellas' Carriage, so that's what I named it. I have added 'Be Mine!' or "love" to some of the products. You can check them out at under Fractals.

As with everything, I have learned that it takes time to learn new programs. I always just want to know how to do everything right away. But you have to take it one step at a time. Patience - yikes!
