My Two Cardinal ACEO's

This week I've been busy doing artwork everyday.  I am having a lot of fun with my Prismacolor colored pencils.  So, here are two of my creations.  The first is Mr. Cardinal aceo, created on the back side of mat board.   If interested, he is listed in my etsy shop, just click on the link above.

Here is Little Miss Cardinal aceo.  She is Mr. Cardinal's fiance.  lol  I created her the day after I created him to complete the set.  She is also colored pencil and is created on tan mat board.  I really like the mat board support.  It has good tooth for taking many, many, many layers and I also like how sturdy it is.
If interested in Little Miss Cardinal, please click on the link above, it will bring you to my etsy shop.
More to come.
Have a fantastic day,
hugs,  Brenda

Hi Brenda - your birds are lovely!

I've been wondering for a while whether to try coloured pencils. I should think I might get on well with them as I like working in pastels - ie no water and brushes involved - and you've just about convinced me to give them a try. Thank you!

Hi Brenda, you really did a great job on the birds. Now I've got an itch to get out the ol' coloured pencils and try one myself.

Thank you Judy and Rose. It's so nice because if my back hurts, I can sit in the recliner where I am comfy and still do artwork. Prismacolors rock!

Ohhhh! How pretty these are! I do miss seeing Cardinals. Living in the Pacific NW, we don't have them. You do such lovely bird art! Very cute that they are engaged. :) You do make me want to try bird art. Haven't given it a shot yet.

Have you tried playing with Inktense watercolor pencils? I got some for Christmas and they are very intense when wet. So pretty. Might be something to play with if you haven't already. Of course you can use them as colored pencils as well.

Thank you so much Itaya! No, I haven't heard of Inktense WC pencils, I have only used prismacolor and Derwent. I will have to keep my eye open for the Inktense. I'm not that crazy about the Derwents.

Beautiful work on the cardinals! I used to do colored pencil ACEOs. It is a great medium, isn't it?
