First we went to Mt. Rushmore. Pretty impressive!
Then we went to Custer State Park in South Dakota.
This is my hubby, Paul. Isn't he strong to be able to hold up those huge rocks like that? hehe
As you can see, I am Very impressed by Paul's strength! Wow! : )
Here we are together.
This lady Buffalo is cleaning herself. Can't be dirty for all these pictures taken of her!
Mama and Baby Buffalo relaxing in the grass.
Had to get close ups of the baby with my zoom lens. Isn't he cute?! Don't worry, no one left the car when the buffalo were around. Hey, where do buffalo go? Anywhere they want to!
Ok, see where I drew the circle? Take a good look. That is an enormous buffalo walking in front of that SUV, and it is taller than the vehicle. The one to the left is more like the average size adult. Don't want to mess with them!
Driving around Custer State Park and seeing all the buffalo was my favorite part of the whole vacation. It made me feel so alive and thankful that God created such magnificent animals. We spoke very quietly and I kept telling the babies that they are beautiful. Good thing my in-laws are hard of hearing, they'd think I was nuts...oh ya, they already know that! lol
That's it for now, will be posting more pics later.
Before I go, I want to show you my final version of Simply Swans. You can find it in my etsy shop and it will soon be in zazzle shop too.
Happy 4th of July weekend. Be safe and have fun!
hugs,
Brenda

Fabulous vacation pics. I love the ones of the buffalo. They're awsome animals. I'd be sweet talking to them too. Your Simply Swans turned out great. The ripples in the water are wonderful. Have a safe and happy fourth.
Wonderful photos, Brenda! When I was there it was ages ago and I used my instamatic, lol. It's great to see buffalo!
Thank you Rose and Lee. Happy 4th of July weekend!
I should just say "ditto, what Maddy said". LOL, I love the buffalo pics too. That big one is a huge monster!!! Hmmm... now I want to barbeque a buffalo burger, NOT.
Love how your swans turned out. You are really talented.
Happy Holiday!
We love the Black Hills. We went to the buffalo round-up two years ago in Custer State Park. They have an art fest, chili cook-off, music, etc. each Sept., plan to go back sometime. A buffalo calf butted the side of our van, approx $1500 damage. They get up-set by noise motorcycles. There were two behind us. Can you imagine riding a motorcyle through a buffalo herd?
Thank you Maggie.
Arlene, no I cannot imagine riding a motorcycle in a buffalo herd. Thank God your car didn't get butted by a larger buffalo. yikes!
